I took this picture with Mavic Air today, wind was 45kph , when I turned around to come home, full elevator my MavAir would not move , not an inch, may have been going slightly backwards, so I just lowered to about 10 ft above the water and in the Lee of the wind I managed to fly to safe ground.
I could have used sport but wanted to see what options I could use avoiding sport.

Two things, in this wind MavAir gimbal managed to hold very steady, and there is usually more than one way to skin a cat ;+)

Yeah was out to lunch had the drone with me was itching to get it up but wind was so strong, but in the end I couldn’t resist, sometimes the picture doesn’t tell the whole tale. I don’t believe you could get such a steady shot with hand held on a tripod on such a windy day.

Good recovery and a beautiful shot mate

It’s great lovely job, I’ve just started doing some experimenting with hdr in video with plugin for FCP so really appreciate this one..

No single shot, took awhile to frame with the wind.

Wow stunning shot buddy, it's a cracker, absolutely fabulous and I can see why you couldn't resist. And 45kph winds the air is a capable little aircraft otherwise that shot wouldn't have been achievable. Great flying to get the air back, a cool head and confidence in the AC and own abilities prevents mishaps, well done indeed.
