Dont know whats going on with my P4. The max speed I can get out of it is 21 mph and about 25 mph in sport mode??? Could this be just a setting? My P3P will do 35 mph or more at any given time. Just does not seem right???

Obstacle Avoidance shuts off as soon as you enter Sport Mode, you will receive a banner to that effect.

I got 51.3 mph flying with the wind with my P4P.  Definitely faster than my P3P.

Expo adjustments wil change the sensitivity of the joysticks but have no effect on speed.
Changing gain settings is not recommended and shouldn't be necessary.

The fastest my P4 has ever been and I do think there was a bit of a tailwind, was 56 MPH...  obviously in Sport mode.  My usual normal mode speed with no winds are 24 to 25mph.

Havent had a chance to try it out yet but I expect a lot more than 25 mph. Hoping for at least 40. My P3P just about hits that. I'm seeing 45 plus advertised.

Your Phantom will do what the specs say it will exactly as everyone else's does.

Did that and now it will go 35 to 37. There is no change when I put it in sports mode. I dont think its doing anything.

There should be a stark increase, it looks like you havent turned on the extra modes yet? need to do that in the app

Turned it on and barely getting 39 in sport mode. Switched to A mode and top speed is 44 mph. I did notice a good drift with the drone. I'm assuming the GPS mode is off and the breeze is blowing it.

You need to do your testing when there is little to no wind at all, a "breeze" will slow you down thus thinking top speed is slower than spec'ed and yes, Atti mode has no GPS so you will drift.

At what height are you doing the speed tests? lower the height the slower the wind speeds, not 100% of the time but mostly, try again at about 15m, wide open area...

Be aware that in Atti mode it will not brake when you release the sticks, you'll have to reverse stick direction if you need to do a fast stop.

Did you turn off Downward Vision system? Even though it doens't work above 10m it slows the drone down massively in general.
In my early days I kept it always on and was then surprised how much faster it goes without.
My current record is 69.9 miles with a slight tail wind ;-)

Turn  off you're obstacle avoidance, and fly with the wind not against it.

The downward vision system does not slow the Phantom.
The forward obstacle avoidance system does.

Obstacle avoidance was off when I tried it last night. Leaving for vacation in a couple days. Wont have time to try it again. Will keep you posted when I get back.
