So today I tried out sport mode for the first time. It was a little windy (not sure how fast) but I took off straight from my house at about 150ft going down wind. I went full throtle and watched the speed increase super fast. I was shocked at how fast this P4P is in sport mode. It was awesome. I noticed it was in the 40's while I was flying down wind and then about 32 flying against the wind.

When I finished and uploaded my flight data it showed my max speed at 47.7mph. Crazy!

Tell me what is your top speed (wind or no wind).

57.76mph for me, max in-flight gust was 31mph with an avg wind speed of 25.28mph, not the fastest in the world by far but  was chuffed

well Airdata reckons my old P3P achieved 81.10 km/h but it also says that wind was 52 kmh with 116 km gusts. I'm thinking data may be a tad confused on that flight

You should try switching to Atti mode and test again, way faster than Sports mode and it actually breaks abruptly when switching back to Sports in full speed.
30.5m/s - 109.7Kph - 68.2mph reported in flight records, i am sure it can do better, i posted here how i tested, current top speed was made a few days later using same way to test.

When going with the wind i have noticed a big difference. In sport it peaked on 21.3m/s just above the specs, then it got switched to atti and speed up quite fast peaking on the 30.5m/s then braking when switched back.

Make sure not to do it close to ground in case it should dive.
What i did was going to 95m switched to atti and had it flow to notice the wind direction, then back to GPS and went to the opposite end of the field, pushed the stick up full then switched mode as it maxed out. Then going back full stick trying out the different modes, repeated a few times.

Mine is that way as well. Ked must have a special model

I hit 55MPH once in a strong wind carrying the drone but generally 45-50MPH is quite normal in Sport mode.

It might have been, i never should have send it back
Have not dared trying any test of this kind with the current replacement, not sure it would have a happy ending if a sudden Battery signal error, battery error and other strange errors occur while rocketing away...

63mph is my top speed. These can’t half shift with a tail wind.

Lol the funny thing is the wind at ground level wasn’t even that strong and I wasn’t an any great great either.

Yeah congrats, i'll wait to i get a  replacement i can trust before trying anything
Not sure those are the fastest seen anyway as it was not that strong a wind when i did my tests. Can you confirm my experience that it brake quite hard when switched from atti back over sport to GPS or how did you manage?

When I had my P4 I clocked 91kmh with slight tail wind
