Just a heads up, I am getting app crashes with the latest DJI Go (v4.2.14) on a Pixel 2 XL on the Android P Beta release.Anyone else having any problems? Would loading an earlier version of DJI Go help? Might drop the beta if there is no other option.

Patrick, did you try to reinstall the app and see if it works well? Or you can export the crash log for further check: DJI/dji.go.v4/LOG/CRASH Thanks for your support.

Hi. Can you explain when the app crashes? In flight, menus or otherwise?

When I first installed 4.2.14 it would flash a white screen for any menu or option selected from the main screen & do nothing else..Totally useless.
I downgraded DJI Go 4 back to 4.2.12 & started having similar problems.
Eventually I factory reset my android device after backing everything up.
After logging back into google, all my apps restored, including DJI Go 4  4.2.14.
So far DJI Go 4 4.2.14 now seems functional. I have not tested in flight as it's been too windy for a few days.

Good Luck

I'm having the same issue on my Pixel 2 XL with the Android P Beta, the app crashes on launch without fail. I don't even get a chance to see the first menu. It doesn't seem to be creating logs in the location listed above either, so I can't upload anything.

I have tried deleting cache and reinstalling the app both with no positive result.

Thanks

Hi, just to clarify -
The DJI GO app force-closes immediately upon launching, just after the splash-screen displays. There is no chance to connect to the remote/drone before it closes.
Nothing appears to be written to the crash log when the force-close happens. The last log entry was from over a month ago, so I deleted the log and attempted to re-launch the app, and nothing new in the logs.
I might try downgrading the app and see if that works, but I have my doubts that it will work.
I also tried deleting and re-installing the app from the Play store, and deleting all cached storage/data for the app. Same result.

4.1.9 is the last version, which works. Maybe this helps for a fast fix..

Thanks, I have already reverted my handset back to stable Oreo and have DJI GO 4.2.14 running again.
If anyone confirms a version DJI GO running on a 2XL with Android P (Beta), let us know.

Same issue here. I have actually set up my old phone and I'm using that to fly. I'd love to be able to fly on my main phone though.

I had the same issue with Pixel 2 XL. As suggested in the comments, I tried 4.1.9 version and now the app is opening up without crashing.

Are you running the 4.1.9 version on the 2 XL with Android P Beta?

Yes. I even did a test flight with 4.1.9 on Pixel 2 XL with Android P. No app crashes during flight. So will use this version as a workaround till DJI fixes the app.

No fix for the DJI Osmo Mobile 2, it requires the old app (Pre P4) and the latest version is 3.1.38, from May 23rd. Flying with old phone is one thing, but video capture with old phone is no good.. Anyone know of an older app that works on P?

Hi, sorry for the inconvenience. I would like to verify what phone are you using? I believe we're having an issue with Osmo mobile 2 right?

4.2.20 worked for me for about a day on my Pixel 2. Now it is back to crashing, as far as I know nothing has changed.

4.2.20 was working with my Pixel and Android P DP3 but since updating to Android P DP4, it has broke again, I find it odd since this is suppose to be a release candidate for Android P and they finalized the APIs in DP3.

A very crappy workaround that has been working for me on my Pixel 2 XL is to uninstall the app and reinstall.  Clearing the data/cache of the app isn't enough to fix whatever is crashing the app.

Some others were questioning version 4.1.19 working with the Pixel 2.  I tested it out last night running with my Mavic Pro on the latest firmware.  The app doesn't crash after multiple flights.  However, the video was very lagy and seemed it would lose signal much easier than 4.2.20.  This is still better than not being able to use your drone at all

Sorry to know that, however, I'm afraid that the Android P version is not yet optimized with DJI GO 4 app and I'm sure that our R&D engineers will do their best to work on this scenario so that our application will come up with this new Android version. Thanks for understanding.

I'm having the same problem please fix your app!  Downgrading isn't really an option to me since I'm traveling at the moment but I can't use my Mavic Air that I just bought so it's killing the experience.

Hi, thanks for the inquiry, unfortunately, we haven't received any updates regarding this concern. We will inform you, once our app is optimized with the latest DJI GO 4 app.

I have both the Pixel XL and the Pixel 2 XL and both phones were updated to Android 9, Pie.

On both phones, the app doesn't even start up. Did DJI not even get the developer preview to test their software? My Mavic Air is rendered useless until the software is patched/updated.

I really do not like using 3rd party software but I feel I will have no choice.

PLEASE expedite the update!
