Two hard shell cases and a soft case. Biggest complaint about the hard shell case is that it doesn't stand on end very well. I wish that they'd put some kind of legs....small blocks....or something on the one side to level it out when it's standing on end.

It has feet, they're on the base for the way it's supposed to be stored, so the drone in sitting flat on its feet.  ;-)

The Nanuk 945 comes with a foam block with the proper cutout to protect the gimbal inside the case. I also use the Polarpro gimbal guard and it fits nice and snug inside the foam protector. Double protection

I love that spongy foam gimbal protection surround...

Makes me feel secure too. Haha

Nanuk makes a nice box, I have the 950 which has wheels.
Would have got the 945 but the 950 was on sale, still is @ $129.

You like that gimbal sleeve! I requested an extra one today

Oh yeah, Canadian built for tough-enough service. Haha I looked at the Nanuk 950, for a minute...
I already have wheels, three of them, as I rYde a Can Am SpYder RS-S. The Nanuk 950 is a wee bit too big for my comfort. Unless it had proper wheels, then I would just tow it. Hahaha

Yes, that foam cube, cut perfectly, to house the Phantom 3 Pro' camera and gimbal, is a sweet way to keep it protected.
Gotta love 6 battery slots too. ;-)

It's a wonderful case, and should be great in the rain, if I ever get caught in it again... ;-)

Am I the only one with the DJI / Manfrotto backpack?
I know it's pricey, but I fit a lot of stuff in there, bird and RC, 6 batteries, 10" tablet and hood, lots of accessories (props, SD cards, antanna boosters, extra cables, etc.).

Is this the case you spoke about?

The foam case that comes with the P4P is perfect. The guy who designed it should have gotten a bonus. It is as compact as possible and the foam is pretty tough.

Perhaps buy the backpack adapter and have the total package... Ha

Sorry for the late reply. That's the model, though it's been modified a bit since I got mine.

Yes, those are nice cases. I like it. ;-)

I still prefer my Nanuk 945 hard side case though.

I use the Manfrotto Aviator D1 Backpack and here's why:

Its comfortable: when i say its comfortable, I mean it's as comfortable as it's going to get carry a load of expensive equipment on your back. I did a 19km walk in New Zealand recently and took it with me the whole way and it felt fine.
You can fit loads: and i mean loads! So many compartments that I can take all the equipment I want with me: I have my laptop, ipad, DSLR, Go Pro, Spare Lense, Drone and Transmitter all in there whenever I'm on the move.
It protects my stuff: as a backpack should right? Nothing has ever broken inside, even on flights and transport.
Quick Release: You can have your phantom in the air in seconds, the front of the bag opens up and you can clip your drone in. Super handy when your filming in more than one location.

Thats it off the top of my head, you can read a full review of the here http://www.droneriot.com/manfrotto-aviator-d1-backpack-review/ .

I am amazed at the money people will spend on cases soft and hard ....

I have a soft Multistar case for my P3S .... perfect fit ... less than $50 shipped ... Hobby King.

I have a Dronegear Hard case for my P3P ... perfect fit (it came with my P3P when I bought so cannot link to it) .... less than $100

I prefer to have durable functioning rather than brand name .... and cash in pocket spare to spend on other items !

so basically, all of you with backpacks run with just the gimbal clamp and you have been fine?

I have various gimbal clamps ... I have a 3D printer ...

Interesting that DJI when they repaired my P3P ... strongly advised to ONLY use the 'square' stock plastic clamp ... as they reckon its only one that actually clamps movement correctly.

Which drone model have you been using with that case?
Your dslr must be quite light, though I'm only guessing.
The Nanuk 945 is great, but I wouldn't want it to carry my Nikon D800 with an 80-400mm lens.
That would be the straw that broke this camels back. Even with its comfy padded shoulder strap.

By the way, I am still with the same 4 intelligent flight packs. But have room for several more... (3)
