I am considering on buying a spark for my Canada trip, i just want to know the laws regarding flying a spark, becasue Is the spark considered a small drone to fly anywhere? I just want to know if its worth it buying the spark for my canada trip, becasue i look forward in taking pics and record video for recreational reasons People say drone laws in Canada made drone usage almost imposible, dose it apply to the spark?

I do not know what the laws are in Canada but here in Europe, the  drones that weigh more than 250g have to respect the rules of aviation and the restrictions that are imposed.

The Spark technically does fall under restrictions here, but they aren't terrible unless you want to shoot over a bunch of people, which is a bad idea anyway. The airspace for YVR cuts off a big chunk of the city, but I wouldn't recommend flying in the city for the most part. I usually do all my filming out in the wilderness well away from people and infrastructure.

That said, the Spark is so small, it can be mistaken for a toy drone and you might be able to get away with some city flying if you're not being stupid and bothering people or flying recklessly. For example I flew around the empty street in front of my house a few times to get some footage of the beautiful cherry blossoms. Never went above treetop height, and made sure there were no people nearby. (I'm just outside of the YVR airspace anyway.)

We have a planned Canada trip, starting from Vancouver as well, planned for next summer and it was one of the reasons I bought the Spark. To take some great footage in the nature. But I won't be flying in the city. Outside the city and national parks there will be plenty nice places to fly and film I suppose. Just follow the rules as mentioned here: https://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/civilav ... safely-legally.html
With an app like Airmap you can check whether you are in a restricted area or not https://www.airmap.com/

When is your trip? If you don't have at least 2 weeks to practice and hone your piloting skills then I would say it is not worth the risk of flying it in a new area as a novice.

You need to put a label with your name, contact number and address on the drone if you want fly in Canada.

I ordered this little tag with my contact details. It is necessary when flying in Germany, but usefull for Canada as well.
