Old Farts are always anyone older than you!  

Get older, make more money, can afford more and better toys! Also not like most millennials spending money on cars, women, drugs, and booze. I have a bunch of younger engineers that work with me making 80-100K and they can barely afford to go to Taco Bell for lunch.

Interesting.  With 80 votes in, I'm surprised to be in the largest age group.  Also pleased that for once I'm not the oldest one in the group. :-P

Was just thinking... I wonder if a similar survey in the Spark, Mavic, etc... groups would have similar or very different results.  Maybe us old farts are partial to the Phantom or could it even have to do with the price of the AC?

That's an interesting question.
While reading about drones and being present in forums I got the impression that 99% of drone pilots are male, 90% are retired and all are somewhat nerdy ;-)

pretty accurate.

Okay you young whipper-snappers. This old pilot traded a Cessna for a Phantom three years ago.  This year I will be 73 years young.

Heck, I am only 64 years old and still working as a state game warden here in Alabama.  I still feel young.  Only problems I have is that my shoulder, knee, hips, neck hurt all the time.  I can't remember crap.  I need a nap every day and I go to bed at 8:00 and wake up at 5:00, pee all the time, etc. etc.  WAIT! I think I am an OLD FART NOW.

Apparently this is not a young man's hobby.

And it doesn't seem to be a middle-aged man's hobby either.

I'm 62 and bought my very first drone of any kind in April.  So far I love the hobby.  My wife thinks I'm nuts to be getting into this drone stuff "at my age."
I'm still in very good health with no aches or pains as of yet.  I look in the mirror and really don't see a 62 year old face.  But when at the store I'm starting to get "can I get that for you sir?" Or "here... me help you with that."  Or younger people holding the door open for me.  Hmmm...

If DJI sees this, they may decide to direct their marketing strategy to old coots.  Maybe larger fonts for poor eyesight, and warnings like " strong interference old man".

haha. I feel like this poll doesn't represent the majority of the DJI Community. I think that this poll leads more towards "older" people because they are the ones who use this forum.

But if this does represent everyone, they need to market more towards older people, your right

I am sure though not positive, I may have an issue controlling my drone or maybe controlling anything...

I have no problem controlling my drones .... it is them bad old farts that I cannot control. Bystanders either run or collapse!
Old, farty, droning and retiring in around 5 months.
Almost forgot .. King of the Grump! Beat that, squeakers.

45 and Probably be flying for a long time.

The poll results are not too surprising but I'm guessing that the age results reflect the fact the maybe the older pilots have more of an interest in contributing to these forums ??? And it's not an inexpensive hobby. Younger folks tend to be more active in doing sports rather than standing still with a controller in hand .... btw, yes I'm an older pilot.
