In all fairness I’ve not had any major issues however I have seen a lot of reports about people losing theirs recently! Very odd

damn... would have been nice being able to use OTG when being on holiday, but according to the reports here I'd rather not update. And seriously, DJI how can you do this to us? It's not normal that one needs to be afraid of updates.

4.2.14 is still OTG friendly. As far as on my Oreo device that is.

The unresponsive video/photo buttons are becoming very irritating. Last week I couldn't make some nice action shots because the buttons didn't respond. Both hardware on the RC as software buttons on the iPad are very unpredictable when they respond or not.

It is really a version that ruined the Spark. Do not upgrade!

Same for me.

Flew yesterday a few times with Ipad Mini with this version and OTG and didn't notice any issue. Didn't went very far though (approx. 120m). Only had some signal errors while doing a rocket shot (which is quite normal because the AC is flying right above you).

After a bit more testing I’ve noticed the following

1. A’s noticed by others the photo / video capture button can be delayed. At one point the video capture button was greyed out so I had to switch to photo then vidoe again and it worked as normal.

2. There is a definite increase in lag when using both 5.8 and 2.4GHZ WiFi. Range is not effected in my tests but response is

I am considering selling my spark and keeping the money aside to go towards either mavic pro or just wait until the next new one comes out

My p4p version 01.04.0602 and mavic pro version 01.04.000 both of them have choppy and lag when flew near area of houses (wifi). Current used app 4.2.16. Last time no lag or choppy when flew there. Now worst. Do need both air craft update firmware to match app 4.2.16? TESTED ipad 9.7 (2018) 6th gen, samsung note 8 and xiaomi MI 5 plus all same lag and choppy. i run out of idea.

I too, have noticed the video button not working.

My work around is to start recording before the drone get very far.

still nothing new? are you guys already working on an update, maybe? perhaps it would be way easier if there was one app per one drone. other peopue have already suggested this...

Why suffer and instead go back to 4.2.12? This version works really well and supports OTG on Android. No crashes, no disconnects no nonsense.

I tried to go back to 4.2.12, but the installation is not completed.
I'm going to disable the automatic update for DJI GO, I should have done this already, considering that the updates made by DJI are not reliable, unfortunately.

Ok, so I did more tests.
I turned off the bluetooth and data and left only the wifi on my mobile. I didn't loose the video feed any more. The range is not affected it seems as I reached 1 km before loosing signal (CE mode).
However the video lag is horrid and it seems not related to distance.

Yes - if you use WiFi connection video lag is bad. This is why I stopped using WiFi for my connection between phone and RC about 7 months ago. I was on 4.1.15 (which worked with OTG) until DJI released 4.2.12 which works well with OTG again. Versions between 4.1.15 and 4.2.12 broke OTG. Versions after 4.2.12 broke OTG again.
I have Android device - LG G5. 4.2.12 version is the best I ever had loaded. It is very reliable and video has very little if any lag. Just connect via OTG.

I tried re-installing version 4.2.16, but in-flight testing shows the message "no signal" at various times. Impossible to fly safely, I will wait for DJI GO update.

New version 4.2.20 is out today on Play Store.

Use APKpure! They have 4.2.12 and it loads everything including the resource file. I had the same problem  when I tried sideloading  4.2.12 to my Moverio glasses. You have to install APKpure but its no big deal you can remove it if want but I left it installed. Be sure to uninstall and other DJI Go apps before.

I tried to install APK DJI GO 4.2.12 download on the APK Mirror website recommended in this forum and did not succeed. Please, share you APK pure. Thanks!

I had no issues with 4.1.15 in 3 different devices. I am running 4.2.16 in 2 of my devices and 4.2.12 in my Moverio BT-300's.  4.1.15 is also available on the APKPure site as well. APKPure is just another APK mirror server. I found it to be a totally safe site should you want to try a different server.

Why do you prefer 14 over 15? I guess I'll also try now either version, even though I have to say the layout of the newer versions are optically better, but this is only my opinion.

I tried yesterday: Version 4.1.15 (variant 30xxxx in APKMirror)

I had no problem with this version: No video interruption. No disconnection. CE Mode  (without OTG!)
However, the connection to the aircraft takes longer.

I have two devices, both android, one with Android 8 and the other with Android 7. I have DJI Go 4 version 4.2.14 on the Android 8 device and 4.1.15 on the other. Both devices works fine with Sparky on OTG between RC and no issues so far.

Going to 4.2.16?? Not sure (most probably will not do it) as it is a 400MB update and does not indicates any performance updates for the Spark.

Interesting discussion. I use 4.2.20 and OTG on my Samsung 7 phone. Seems go work OK. However on my Samsung 10.1 tablet i have had to go back to 4.2.16.  Video lag unacceptable some functions not working.
