It stopped following me just after (edited that bit out!). It works better in side profile  as their ain't much to lock onto when its following. I had scoped this bit out beforehand so there was a decent get out to allow me to retrieve the drone. I had three batteries, which was just enough - I would need to solar-recharge for any longer trips. My only complaint about the Mavic Air TBH is the runtime. Making the drone 10% bigger would have allowed for a significantly larger battery giving 30mins plus. 30 mins is the sweet-spot I feel.

Also wish the optical follow was backed up by GPS comparison between the location of the controller and the location of the mavic - together with a dynamic RTH function.

Still photo's and 360's etc also get a the GPS tag of the take-off location rather than the actual location of the drone at the time the pic was taken. This means they come up in the wrong place when uploaded to google street view.

Yes, indeed 27 minutes of the Mavic Pro is better indeed.
That GPS part is weird.
I have not checked that, but that sounds strange.

Great footage and stills. The scenery is magnificent. A trifle too energetic and spartan a trip for an old codger like me to contemplate ( best part was the arrival of the train!)  but I guess you had a great time. Thanks for the share.
