Hello,
I've just received my Mavic Air last week. The Active track doesn't really work.
1) When I click the Active Track Icon.... the pop up of menu of the 3 options (Trace, Profile & Spotlight) sit right in the center of my screen.
I've seen others on Youtube that the menu is at the bottom...
Is it a bug or am I doing something wrong ? How do I fix it ?

2) When I choose the TRACE mode.... it behave like the SPOTLIGHT mode....the drone does not move even though it seems like to be tracking me. The gimbal will track within its field of view but the drone will not move along with me / follow me.


I've tried to search on google & this forum... seems no one have similar issue.


Would appreciate if you could share your thought.

Its Android cell Phone - LG V30.

One thing I think the behavior of active track does not like it so light or so dark.  I see your EV is +2.3.  Try bringing that down to between 0 to -0.7.  It would seem that it loses it's object when it is that bright at least my observation.

Thank you for your input... I'll try your suggestion tomorrow.

How about the menu location right in the middle of the screen... Is that normal ?
I've tried to move/drag it but  no avail....

Hi, I'm sorry to hear about the issue that you are experiencing. Please restart the drone and the DJI GO4 app to try it again, if still no good luck, please try another mobile device to do the troubleshooting. Please keep us in updated, thanks!

Ok thank you. I will try your suggestion and keep you posted

FYI....I have already tried to restart the Drone & GO4 App many times.... but the Active Track menu is still there in the center of the screen (as in the picture above) blocking the subject thus I could not tap on the "GO" icon.

I have not tried with other mobile device coz I dont hv one....

Hopefully I could borrow somebody device in d nx few days.

Might be a software bug, try to reinstall the App.

I also have LG-V30 and the same problem.

Maybe try changing the phones screen resolution if you can?

Looks like there's another LG-V30 owner that had the same problem.

I never thought about the phone screen resolution..... which make sense.
Luckily, after checking.... my phone is able to do that without rooting.
Some phone cannot change the screen resolution.

I will try it and keep you posted.

Unfortunately.... I think the issue is unique to LG V30.
I've tried with Samsung Note 4 Edge and it works.
The pop up menu sits at the bottom of the screen where its supposed to be.

I did re-installed the App.
I did change the screen resolution.
They all doesn't work.
The pop up menu is still in the center of the screen blocking the subject & "GO" icon to confirm the mode.
Thus render the mode useless.

There is also another member with LG V30 in this thread having the same issue.
DJI need to be made aware of this issue so that they could fix it asap.

If so... would you relay this issue to the mgmt so that they are aware of it and could start to troubleshoot the real issue.

Will the list be updated by DJI? What about newer phones like Samsung Galaxy S9, Huawei P20 etc?

Not aware of the recommended mobile device. The old model of LG V20 is on the list but not LG V30.

From what i've seen so far, in Active Track mode, the drone won't change altitude.  - someone with more knowledge may speak better to this - so when climbing or descending a hill in Active Track mode, the drone reaches a point where it can no longer follow.
