Altitude error. Show incorrect height.
Just got my Spark and have use the last few dayes to learn it.
But it makes a error I can´t fix, it show incorrect height when I get up over the 5 meter.
So when I try to use the RTH function it just goes up (height is set to  30meter) but it goes up to 100meter and maybe more befor I stop it.
I have calibrated the IMU and Compas, I fly with controller with Wifi (The OTG cable is the mail)

You have two kind of sensor to measure the altitude :
For the lower height (your 5 meter) is the optical sensor or the ultra sound sensor ( on old models).
For the high height is a pressure sensor (barometer) like in the real airplanes.

It looks like your barometer is faulty.

It is very dangerous to fly without it, you could easily end up in in a no fly area (above 120 meter) or fall out the sky. If the GPS or the compass is off, you go into altitude mode, you basicly flying only on your barometer (beside the giro-scoop of course).

Contact your dealer or DJI.

Hiya,

Barometer is doing fine, your optical sensor heigth is indicating height all flight. It should become "empty " when flying higher than this sensor range.
Guess software uses that height if its there as reference height as it is more accurate than barometer height at low altitude.

I would refresh the firmware and try again.

Question about this flight ; why did the app start the autolanding? 42% batt power enough to fly further in time....

see the VPS height line in my chart.

Your log looks similar the once I had before I sent mine in.  Turned out to be a mainboard failure.  And SubUser is right its dangerous to fly if you're having a problem.  Mine would act fine and then all of a sudden fall out of the air and loose power.  Other times it just acted like it didn't have enough power to even stay stable and hover.

Hi

It was me how push the auto landing to test it, it was before I known there was a problem with the altitude.

How do I reinstall the firmware?

Use DJI assistent on your computer. [ https://www.dji.com/mavic-air/info#downloads ]

Ok, did you pushed autolanding on the remote or did you use the soft button in the app?
(just asking for my analysis tool).

Cheers

Hi, it seems I have the same problem. Could you help me? Should I worry?

My drone started to lose control, it constantly went upwards, as the app said the altitude has not changed. When I realized that I lost control of the altitude I immediately started to pull it down, eventually causing it to descend, but after a while rather to fall. I pushed the lever up, and could eventually reach to a normal landing. This happened multiple times. I flied it up, it lost control after a certain altitude, started to go up very fast, the app said the altitude is the same, and after I pulled down, it started to fall.

This is prototype issue on Spark (among many others).
For me it started with taking off with uncertainty and fluctuations in altitude. Then I flew for 4-5 minutes and then suddenly the height began to fall and in vain I pushed up the Stick, landed in an unsuitable place and the propellers crashed. No error in log, just abruptly ...
