Has anyone been running their phantom 3 with an unsupported andorid device? I have an HTC One which is running android 5+. Im able to open and use the APP to my knowledge without issue... but i'm afraid to take the P3 into the air using something unsupported. I would hate to have a crash and void my warrenty simply because my device is not on the list. Just wondering is others are flying with unsupported Android devices and if they are experiencing issues doing so.

I've yet to get my P3 so I have little to tell you, but if it were me I'd keep it at low altitude and close range and see how it goes then if I didn't have any problems after a few flights then fly it normally.

The phone can't crash your phantom. U can fly it just fine without a phone or tablet connected.  The controller doesn't need a phone or tablet to operate..  you can leave the phone or tablet off the controller and fly the p3 line of sight.  So,  no matter what phone or tablet you use won't lose control cuz the phone turns off or locks up

Make a believer out of me. Without the app, how do you know when you're ready to fly?
How do you calibrate the compass? And last, but certainly not least, no matter what position I choose for flight mode nor how long I wait, I can't start the motors without the app.

First flights with my Galaxy Tab 3...lot of troubles with live video, also lot of disconnections. Then I tried with an Ipad Mini 2, and perfect, no issues...

The lights go green when it is ready to fly, at least 2 of them will.  The light colour and flashes all mean something. Its all in the manual.

Nvidia Shield is working fine for me. Not on the list. The Inspire boys seem to like it, so went with it too.

Using Samsung Galaxy s4 for more than 30 flights with no real issues. Maybe a little shutter when yawing fast, but rock solid otherwise.
