It's hard chasing the sun in the last hour of light - started with an ND16 on the 1st flight then an ND8, ND4 and by the 4th flight no filter at all. I'm not sure who owns that field in the first shot but impressed is an understatement. I think they are developing a woodland there. I'll try an upload the video flying over it - very slow gimbal tilt from the horizon to the still image whilst pitching forward at about 17MPH. Tricky with the sun behind me changing the exposure for -0.3 to -2.7 - had to come out of manual and into auto for a reshoot.

Nice shots! I kinda prefer the lack of symmetry in the first one, but that just my opinion

That's one of the pitfalls of drone work, damn exposure changes. We had values from F1.7 to F16 in the space minutes, wasn't too much of an issue with the inspire as I could change the F stop with a click of a button, but the mavics needed like you said ND filter changes, land, change, launch, sun either made an appearance or hid behind clouds or mountains, land again and repeat the ND changes. Was quite frustrating.

Lets see what happens today lol

Yeah, at least auto maintains the exposure at zero through the pan but it's not ideal. It's the only option though in these conditions on a Mavic or else you'll start with perfect exposure and have a black screen by the end of the shoot. A variable aperture as on the P4P will be very nice.

One of the key advantages in not being paid to fly is that you can do as you please when it comes to artistic preference in photography - shoot and snap what you like as a hobbyist

Great shots A CW, I’m not sure I agree with dronists , I believe people look more to the right of centre or even left of centre, of landscape photography, I think the first photo position was correct, but each to his/her own, it doesn’t take away from what I think is the best shot.

I prefer the first one too on reflection - guess that's why I did it that way in the first place. It's interesting how people perceive things differently. Thanks for the comment mate.

That's why I stick to this mantra. " I don't know much about art, but I know what I like."
