[size=14.666666984558105px]Newbie here. Took my new phantom 3 for its 3rd flight today but didn’t pull up enough of the long grass and a rotor got a tangled on startup (rotor slowed but not stopped)

[size=14.666666984558105px]The rotors were spinning for 5 or 6 seconds while I panicked before remembering how to shut them off.

[size=14.666666984558105px]Removed the grass and took off without issues. The Phantom flew fine but at the end on the ground I could see it was slower than the others and when I cut the rotors it came to a stop quicker than the others.

[size=14.666666984558105px]I did a quick couple of take offs/landings to check and the issue is still there but it is only noticeable when the drone is on the ground with the motors idling.

Did you try replacing the prop?

It doesn't look like any pictures posted if that is what you were trying to do.

If your bird is under warranty then trying to open up the slower motor will void your warranty with DJI and they will ultimately recommend that you send it for service anyways.

If its out of warranty (and your comfortable taking apart devices) you could try and see if there is some small amount of grass still wrapped around the motor that is causing the slow-down.

I would not continue to fly it until you fix the issue because you could end up burning out the motor completely.

You have grass stuck inside the slower motor.

We do apologize for the inconvenience. Can you please send us some pictures of the actual drone and a picture on the motor of the Phantom 3 as well. So that we will be able to assess the drone properly.

Sorry Bushy, not quite sure what you’re asking- are you suggesting I send a photo under the motor or that there may be grass under the motor?

Maybe grass under the motor?  For the moment, I would not use compressed air, could make thing worse.

Are you sure it wasent like that before the incident?  I had a cheaper drone where 1 motor spooled down slower, never effected anything
