So I have given this a try, after a fresh install (so I completely removed the old version, deleted all DJI folders and also formatted the SD card in the AC).

First flight was pretty OK, video feed lag was as before (so not too bad) at a distance of 50 meters. I tried return to home which found my backpack in the middle of the field and precisely landed on it - wow.

I have almost the same problem when I start flying for few minutes everything works fine, but then....
The app freezes almost all the time, everthing is very slow and the video makes the same problem as it shown

Guys, 4.1.15 is still good enough for all the Spark need
Even .701 would give us all functions, methinks.
I start thinking to try the oldest possibility of firmware/app combination, instead of any 4.2.xx

Since the air, ......

I got the update, now it just crashes on start up

4.2.14 is pretty good...as well as 4.1.15

Both are good for FCC and OTG...the advantages of 4.2.14 is that it has a few more intelligent flight modes (if you like those features).

Sorry, I have not tested the new versions yet. Please, what were the new smart features? Just to know if it's worth the update.

Had video lag issues with 4.2.20; found an APK online of the older 4.2.16 and installed it and all is good and smooth video feed now. There were no firmware changes, just DjiGo4 Android app.  They opened a case with DJI Support on this.

I can not use this file to install version 4.2.12. The installation stops at the message: "Resource File".
Even uninstalling and deleting all folders and files related to DJI GO.
So, I do not know how you are doing downgrade on DJI GO.

Thanks, but this is not the problem. I can install the version, but when I try to open the application, the message "Resource File" appears.

First I would try without cache and folder deleting.
But if it doesnt change after, delete cache befor uninstalling/reinstalling the app a second time

Oh, I forgot to let you use CE mode. What better version for this mode, 4.1.15 or 4.2.12?

Don't you wanna have a working app on your G5, first?
Or wanna know, that you need to get a redmi note 4x or such, first?
The CE problems are coming alone. But you need a working device for them.
But get an OTG cable, anyway, if in CE!

Fine for me.
Though I have reset camera settings and calibrated gimbal as I was having focus issues. (I even thought my sensor was misaligned, only had it a month-still in boot camp)

I believe variant starting with 1xxxx is for cell phone but without resource file.
Variant 2xxxx is for tablet without resource file.
Variant 3xxxx is for both cell and tablet and WITH resource file that fails to download online.

That is still a DJI Go4 WITH Mavic Air in it!

Delete all folder and cache and install the 4.1.15 version 30xxxx
That one is "Mavic Air free"!

Install this version afterwards:

One question, are you switching your phone off, every now and then?
If not, do it after uninstalling, please!

Finally tested and worked smooth!!! Maybe is the phones error I say! I tested on sport mode and distance about 500 meters and all worked fine. Alt was 1 try 30 meters then 50 meters and final 100 meters!
Also had and a max speed record!!!

I uploaded 4.2.20. Distastrous.  Quick shot not work at all. Video lag and distortion with WiFi unacceptable (ok with OTG).  Customisable function keys not work anymore. RC videa button not working.
Loathe to fly with these problems!

My first experience on 4.2.20(600) Android are.....not that good. First flight with mySpark ; very laggy video (on wifi). Never had lag before on previous versions, all other hardware i used the same.

4.2.20 a disaster. I have un-installed and re-installed and hardly anything works. Just lag in responding. Some buttons don't work. Video fragged. RC goes on chatting even when spark turned off. Spark grounded till I get back to 2,2.16 which worked well.

4.2.20 is a disaster. All what you say and more. My spark grounded until sorted.

I tried yesterday: Version 4.1.15 (variant 30xxxx)

I had no problem with this version: No video interruption. No disconnection.  (without OTG!)
However, the connection to the aircraft takes longer.
