This was the infamous day last March when I attempted to fly in winds winds of 26mph, gusting to 44mph. I was fairly inexperienced and panicked. Fortunately I had the sense to drop the Mavic to the ground and go and look for it. Be kind.

Sorry to hear about your near flyaway. Glad to see you were smart enough to bring it down out of the wind.
Enjoyed the snow scenes. Now that it is summer here I yearn for some cool weather.

Yes thanks! I managed to land on crisp snow, then had a long walk to recover it. It was handling fine at 15 metres, but at 50 metres the wind caught it and it went away really fast!

Hopefully still in one piece.

I looked down through the camera to see a place to land and everything was.....white! The top of the snow was crunchy so the MP had a nice safe landing. When I reached the field and saw it sitting there in the distance, it was such a relief. (And yes I carried it home under my jacket like a lost pet!).

I've been dithering about posting such a piloting disaster, but we are already into the beach videos, so the moment is nearly gone. (In fact that was only the second time  in ten years we have seen snow here on the south coast!)

Nice video.  Glad you were able to recover and am sure lesson learned.  Could of been a costly mistake.

at least you didn't feel the cold walking to get your drone back, fear has a wonderful effect of keeping you warm. Delighted it all ended well. Keep posting videos lets see Dorset. BUT NOT Dorchester lol
