Hello I have already a Ronin S so far this gimbal is good, you know looks good, but i cannot work with it while focus wheel is not compatible, I hope yet. When I read the compatibility pdf, I read about the new cable that you can use the focus wheel for zooming, are you kidding me? We don't want to use the focus wheel you promised as a zoom wheel...we need to use the focus wheel to control the focus... I'm very disappointed about this product in final thoughts. I think I get trapped by this fake advertisement.

Can anyone let me know if A7 MK1 is compatible with Ronin S and if not, any idea when / if it will be? THANK YOU!

Any updates on the focus wheel compatibility with A7III? I don’t really care about having to buy the cable, but I just want to be able to use the wheel and get rid of the dodgy IR cable.

Hello DJ. It's very disappointing for me that the Ronin S doesn't work with the Sony Cameras. I bought the Ronin S asking if I would be able to use my Sony cameras and lenses, the answer was: Of course!!!
Now I had to buy me a extra cable to be able to use it, but still not the way I aspected it to work. I dont need a cable that transforms the focus wheel into a zoom I need a focus wheel to focus. If i would have known that I can't use the focus wheel I would have bought me something else. Now I lost a hole day searching why its not working,  asking at Dji support just to realize that I have more knowledge about their product than they do.
I hope DJI works things out ASAP if not I have to get something that works prober.

I’m so disappointed with my purchase of the ronin.
I bought it in July, it got shipped last week (6th November).
And now I also have to use a IR cable when I’m using a 4500$ camera body!?!?

You’ve developed wonderful products, but this is a big let down to your costumers.

I just bought the new muti control cable for my Sony A7S. Are you saying this $25 cable that should have been included with the Ronin S doesn’t let me use the focus wheel? What does it do? Can I only press the record button and use digital zoom? What kind of preofessional filmmaker uses digital zoom?????  I was under the impression that this cable would allow me to pull focus.

I have a Sony A7R mk1.  I picked up the multi cable and now I can auto focus with a half press of the record button (the button w/ the red dot), I can start/stop recording video with a full press, and I can snap a photo with a press and hold.  I can also control digital zoom with the focus wheel.

1.  Make sure to have the latest firmware on both the camera and the Ronin-S
2.  You will need the multi cable!
3.  In settings you must have "Remote Ctrl" to "On" and "USB Connection" to "PC Remote"
4.  For the digital zoom, you will need to set "Zoom Setting" to either "On:ClearImage Zoom" or "On : Digital Zoom"

My understanding is that focus, with the focus wheel, will come in a firmware update...hopefully

It's been 8 months since the departure of the djironins and we still have no electronic focus on sony? How is that possible?

Anyone know if the follow focus wheel can be activated? I've purchased the camera control cable. I have the following features working: All app time-lapse/motion-lapse settings, the record and focus point button, but the follow focus wheel seems to activate the 2 x digital zoom on my lenses? Is that meant to happen? I thought it would activate manual focus for me. Do you need to edit settings?

Wondering the same thing. But going through this thread I see tons of other issues with Sonys unfortunately. Which might hold me back from purchasing a Ronin S . . .

Ive been waiting to purchase this for my Sony A99 MKII . I still see the focus wheel is not ready for this camera.  I dont want to use the clear image zoom or digital zoom options.
