Hello!

I was testing today on an open field the range/quality of transmission DJI Phantom 4 Pro V2.0.
After 700m I started to get Remote Controller Signal Weak.
I put a table with the distance, height and seconds in the video where the Remote Controller Signal Weak error appear.

Any ideeas why the Remote Controller Signal Weak error appears in a nice open field?

I assume you had the RC aerials extended correctly?
Is this happening on every flight? If it is then you may need to contact support as that should not happen.

I have the aerials extended correctly, yes. I only have three flights with it but the error appears in all the flights, yes.

Well I think you need to contact support as it is either a component in the drone or the RC that may be faulty.

The 'nice open field' means nothing. The message also does not tell the real story. It does not mean that the Remote Control is putting out a weak signal, it is really saying that the aircraft is getting a weak reception from the RC unit, they are not the same thing.

The first time that error appeared on the screen, the aircraft was closer to the building in the middle of frame than it was to the RC unit, and those buildings may have been a source of strong WiFi signals.

In my case there where no buildings, only the cars passing by that may have wifi.

Was the channel set to 2.4 or 5.8?
In CE region 5.8. is crap distance wise. I get comparable distances when I fly my P4P v1 at 5.8.
With 2.4 and antenna mod I can fly further than the battery will make ;-)

at 1:52 there are a number of large buildings very close to you. I don't know what is in that building, but it very well may have had WiFi routers all though it. And each one has the same permitted power output as your RC unit.

Were you using the RE goggles?  I found out on my V2 if I connect them to the V2 my controller range is cut by about 2/3rds. I confirmed this several times. When I use the same goggles on my MavicPro the do not effect the range nearly as much, maybe 1/10th.

No googles, only my cellphone on my RC

I never checked what channel I was on. I guess the default values is Auto.

my standard p4p is pooh in CE on 5.8, really poo, deffo try it on 2.4

Fellow P4P V2 owner here and I’ve only had this message a couple of times. Both times I believe it could be contributed to WiFi signals between me with the controller and drone.  I thought the band selection should be set to auto but maybe I should change this?

Can you manually assign channels? If so, this sounds very reminiscent of a similar problem in the Ocusync air unit/RE goggles combo. It has a problem with very poor range, a lot like what's in your video, when the frequency selection is set to "Auto". However, the range is restored when you manually assign a channel on either 2.4 or 5.8.

Maybe the 2.0 P4P inherited the same problem . But even if not, it's worth a try if that's possible in the V2.0 software...

I cannot assign channel for RC. I guess it is working only on 2.4. The video transmission is working on Auto. I flew today again, a little better, but still got transmission weak after 900 m.

The transmission got bad today first after I started to  turn the drone around (950m from me). No issues before (when flying with the aicraft towards).

Any thoughts from DJI about this issue? What can be the source of signal loss?

I just got the same problem, didn't even reach 400ft away from the controller any updates on this case?

I'm in the same trouble. I've been down a signal for less than six feet. I've already tested it with the other radio and it's still the same thing. The problem is on the aircraft. So, DJI, how's this situation? 0 support to your customers!

my drone is ph4 pro v2!...i have problem with signal.....in 2khm have lost...why........??i have the last firmware!

I have P4P V2,  took the drone out to a local Park Area - No Buildings just heaps of wide open grounds - managed to get around 600 Meters on 5GHz (coudnt really take it much further so didnt bother worry too much) Later took it to our farm (2.5KM long) on 5GHz still only got about 600 - swapped it to 2.4Ghz only got 450.  then realised where i was standing ( in amoungst the sheds etc)  I had set a up a wireless link between the Buildings  (sheds) years ago when i did a network Wifi Scan (using IOS Airport Utility) and sure enough there was huge amount of interefence and I know i set it up on 2.4Ghz.
Turned off the Wifi Link beween the buildings to test it out and instantly got 2.5K on the Drone.
Best to check for Wifi signals around where you are standing (even if its your mates phone standing next to you)

Anyone solved?
I've encountered same problem on a refurbished (new) PRO v2 yesterday...it is not possible to me to use for my photogrammetrics jobs....
