How is this determined?   Do I need to transmit a file of some kind?    I have over 40 flights and about 6+ hours and still the first level.

If you are referring to the lvl. 1 iunder your ava, that is you level in the forum. It is not depended on the number of flights but ranked based on use of the forum. Example if you daily login you receive 5 forum points. A reply gives 2 points etc. On you homepage you can see how many points needed for next level.
Forum points are exchangeble for dollars. 1800 points is 20 dollars, spendable in the DJI store.

I can'( click on the word "EXCHANGE" on my homepage.

click on left box and enter quantity you want exchanged, this is a minimum of 1800 and multiples of 180 above that.

e.g 1800 or 1980 or 2160 would all be valid entries.

Then click on '=', and finally click on 'exchange'. It will then show 'audit' against your claim. The points are redeemed at the start of every calendar month. So a claim on the 3rd of June for example, stays as audit until the end of the Month. Your currency value can then be seen against your account in DJI store.

I clicked on the cloud in flight logs and it said that it had synced everything, but my numbers didn't change. But it doesn't surprise me.....I've been trying, unsuccessfully, to update my avatar for weeks and it never works. I get to 10% upload in a split second, then it stops.

It is interesting to note that although I have my app and syncing to show feet, the number below the avatar is in meters. Same as the RTH height.

Yes it will always show meters here in the forums regardless of how you have it set in the app.

Your level in the app does not equate to your level in the forum.
The more you fly, the higher your level in the app.
The more active you are on the boards, the higher your level in the forum.

As you fly more your level will change.

These levels are just forum related. It doesn't matter if you fly 100 km a day in your drone, if you don't participate in the forum (daily log in, start a thread, reply posts, etc.) you won't improve your lvl.

and the max you can exchange is 5,400 per month which is a bit of a pain.

I'm referring to the DJI GO 4 Application - the more you fly - the more the App will raise your level. The Boards it's only dependent on the points achieved through the number of your submitted posts.

Agreed - your level/rank in the forum is driven only by the number of points who have which in turn is driven by the amount you contribute to the forum. Once you have 5,000 points you will automatically become a Captain which is the highest rank for non DJI employees. There are Captains on here who do not even own a drone!

You gain Experience Points by  syncing your flight records through the DJI GO 4 app. So Experience Points is somehow an indicator which depends on your flying stats (Total flight time, Travel Distance ans Flight Time).
Its something like a personal score.
So if anyone wants to incerase his/her Pilot Level just fly more and don't forget to sync your flights pushing the cloud icon on the top right corner from the menu Flight Record.

Fly safe

So, I also have a pilot level of 22 but have a considerably lower flight distance than you do...how is that possible?
Sorry in advance if this is something that has been explained elsewhere, I know there have been a few threads on this but none of them have really explained it in a manner that has made sense to me.

This is my first time On the forum's but according to my flight records I’m. Level 22. I’ve got a 122 flights 17.35 hours of flight time 423, 234 feet. So what does the flight level mean in the app if you can only advance levels by coming on the forums
The level 22 is meaningless with all the flight time and you gain rank just by talking about things. I don’t understand the level system
