Guides & infos:

How to get there and what you should know

Tebing Keraton is located within the Ir H Djuanda Forest Park, at Ciburial Village, Cimenyan sub-district, in the Bandung Regency. It is recommended that you use a bike to go there, since the road's condition are pretty bad up there (highly damaged road), or you can easily use a taxi bike service to go there, and ask the driver to wait for you (pay him additional fee). If somehow you decided to use a car to go there, you will be stopped just around 2 kilometers before reaching Tebing Keraton to park your car there because there's no car parking area up there and the road is very steep and damaged, there will be a post with locals offering you to take you up there using their bikes it will cost you around $4-10 (depends on negotiations).

  • Tips    - Go there at dawn, just before sunrise. because it is very beautiful there during this time with lots of fog down the valley, stay in a hotel not too far away from Tebing Keraton is very recommended.

            - There's a few small local food vendors up there, if you need to buy drinks or breakfast

            - The ticket's fee is Rp12,000,- ($1) for locals, and around Rp50,000,- ($4) for foreigners (price as of June 2018)

            - There's a very nice camping ground here with amazing views, highly recommended if you like camping.

            - When using UAV at a place like this especially in the morning your batteries tends to drain more quickly, so make sure every shot counts.

       Cinematic Footage Tips

  • Add varieties in your video, such as close-up shots, crane shots, reveal shots, timelapses, aerials, etc to make it more interesting
  • Don't use the same footage for an extended period of time in your video as this can make the video boring to watch/may make the viewers lose interest very quickly
  • Use that histogram to avoid overexpose/underexpose in your video
  • Lock your Exposure to avoid sudden changes of exposure in your vid (use manual mode mostly help)
  • Always plan ahead before you shoot, learn about your surroundings, especially with drones, you're going to want to use every single batteries as good and efficient as they can (or buy lots of spare batteries if you have the budget)
  • When shooting with drones, go slow, slow is more cinematic and make for a smooth video
  • Use speed ramp in your video, which is when you use varying frame rates in a video to bring attention to key moments
  • Music can make or break your video, music can set an emotional tone and has a major effect on the way we perceive a scene from an emotional perspective, so try to use the right music for your video so it can capture the "emotion" of your video
  • Time your video sequences and key moments well in time with the music to make it more immersive
  • Shoot in 4k so you can add pan & zoom effects without losing quality
  • Shoot in flat color profile if you're planning to color grade your video in post production for better results

That's all from me, hope it helps, fly safe and keep creating epic travel videos
