Sorry to say it frankly, but things are getting somewhat sick in my opinion and the infamous "OsitaLV" who has no clue as usual has joined the scene again: https://dronedj.com/2018/06/18/m ... coincidence-or-not/

I can’t wait. Whatever it is, I’m betting it will be good.

More thoughts from OsitaLV about the MPII. He thinks there could be two versions, one with 20mp, other with 12mp. In my opinion, that would be an absolute waste. Get the Mavic Air if you don’t care as much about picture quality. Here is OsitaLV’s post.

We have a saying in NL that goes like 'Spijkers op laag water zoeken' (finding nails in low waters or something).
So essentially looking for something that is not there....

So now we can have 1 month of speculation on what they will announce.
I certainly hope MP2.
And if you read 'bigger picture', it might be a bigger sensor camera.
But it might also be just another video.
(they fooled us before)

This guy is either sick or a juvenile who wants to attract attention. The well known drawings would fit for both options, sorry to say it frankly again.

No, not for this one please... It will be too important to play with. But my next April project is already in final planning phase or rather ready for construction and it will be a much better one because quite credible...

English we'd use "Even a stopped clock is right twice a day".

A mavic 2 will come out at some point.  If he keeps posting every single announcement is a mavic 2 then eventually he'll be right.  And people will remember that time not the 10 previous ones he was wrong.

True. He says so much, with a hint of possible truth. Probably just to keep people interested.

It’d be sweet, but it is wayyyyy to soon for that. It just came out, so DJI probably won’t give it an upgrade for a while.

Not sure,  but I  know that it shan’t be a remote helicopter.. I am not to concerned or excited about another new drone, unless it has two seats and a large battery... . hahaha
But we all know, what ever it is, will be fantastic. Grinning like a rake

i am hoping so.
If they can mount a 220 degree at the top and belly and have retracting legs then its possible to have an invisible flying camera. No gimbal is needed as software is used for stabilisation (as seen in bebops, rylo, insta360 one, Go Pro Fusion) and the 360 vids then can be reframed back to 16:9 videos.

Shouldnt be hard as DJI has incorporated electronic image stabilisation in the spark and the tiny planet stitching in the mavic air.

A 360 degree field of view can be created with rear and front-facing cameras that each have a 180 degree field of view. It wouldn't be practical or design friendly for drones to have a 360 degree front-facing camera.

The best way to achieve the 360 degree desired effect is to design rear and front-facing cameras. The traditional front facing camera with a gimbal coupled with software stitching together images taken from a rear-facing camera without a gimbal built into the body of a drone is not really that difficult.

Now that would be interesting. I really can’t wait for the 18th. But, I’m not sure if I would like 360* view, if it was like the fusion. The video seems to look a bit distorted.

I am using the fusion and yes the video looks distorted. But that really depends on how artistic you want to be with outputting the file A lot of creative users are exploring little planet effects and hence why there are so many distorted videos out there. If you arent into that gimmicky tiny planet then you can edit so that the video is less "fish eyed" by using the flat option.

And in regards to 360 reframed/overcapture vids - they are here to stay. If done right, the 360 vids can remove the mounted pole and create the effect of flying. I have ditched the close range spark because of this. You can attach a software (EIS) stabailised 360 camera to a 10ft pole and voila - you have a legal flying drone that you can "fly" over crowds.

Stabilisation in the Insta360 one is now much better in comparison with the video below. The slight draw back is the resolution. The reframe/recapture/overcapture can only do around 720p at best when cropped.

I agree, it really is more of a wish list (one can dream right!?). However, I do believe that its very possible they could release a pro model of the air. They really wouldn't have to improve a whole lot to persuade people to buy it. Maybe we will get lucky and get some leaks from the July 11th early show...

What do you think they would change. If we are serous, the Mavic Air is like a Super-Spark. The original Mavic Pro is getting old, so it needs an update with higher camera quality. That would make it a choice over the Mavic Air. Then the next Phantom will probably be aimed for prosumers, possibly with interchangeable lenses, etc. So, I think we’ll not get an update on the Air, but will get and update in the Mavic Pro or Phantom.

If we look at which drone would be easier to upgrade / release the Mavic Air is the clear winner. It has the better bitrate (100 vs 60), more sensors, better gimbel location). All they would need to do is add side sensors and Occysnyc and its golden. Ideally with an increase time to 30 minutes, but I think that if they release an Air with Occysync and side sensors everyone would get it no problem.

I can see it being top dog for a few months, then come Nov, they release the Phantom 5 with the interchangeable lens for the professionals.

If they went the Mavic Pro 2 route, they would have to modify the hardware more. It just seems more natural to upgrade from there newest drone then go back to an almost 2 year old one.
