So I decided to do a comparisson today taking a pano in the same exact spot using Litchi and DJI GO 4. I then edited each one using three different software. I used DJI Media Maker, Autopano Giga, and Microsoft ICE. Once all were stitched I only edited in Adobe Photoshop using the same exact LUT and no other correction done to see the comparrison between each piece of software. Here is what I noticed using the three software and using Litchi and DJI GO 4.
1. DJI Media maker is the easiest but also the results are the worst. There is no configuration possible and it crops nearly half of your image so you had better hope you got enough of the image that you actually wanted.
2. Autopano Giga is the most consistent and there are a ton of settings you can do. This is the hardest to use but once efficent in it, to me looks the best and ALWAYS stitches correctly, at least so far for me. It gives you much more image than DJI Media Maker but slightly less than Microsoft ICE. Worst part for Giga is it costs but worth it in my eyes if you want the best quality pano's.
3. Microsoft ICE is a hit or miss as far as stitching correctly and having parts of the image blurry/not as clear especially when zoomed in. On occasian it will not allign properly where Media Maker and Giga does without issue. This is no matter how many times you try. And sometimes the quality of the image is lower than Giga and even Media Maker which does not make sense given it usually spans the most image. Also sometimes parts of the image will be blury where it is not in either MM or MS ICE. Below I am showing samples of this if you look in the first GIGA and ICE sample. I took a snip of house on the right side zoomed in. It's as if it cannot stitch everything correctly so a lot is wasted and some parts blurry. I noticed that in last DJI GO 4 and Litchi Panos that MS Ice could not correctly stick the DJI GO 4 but was able to the exact same Pano using Litchi. Look at the lines in the field and the pole.
Hi. Thank you for sharing this informative thread. I would recommend that you use the DJI Go 4 application since it is officially designed for your DJI drones. In using a third party application the drone might not function properly and might affect the drone's performance in taking pictures and videos while on a flight.
