What do you guys say the best props to run with a 4s battery are on the flame wheel 550?  I have the e300 propulsion system and right now I am running 9443 carbon fiber props with a 3s battery.

Those props will work with a 4S. I use 10x38 props with a F550on 4S and they preform great!

I think the 1038 with a battery 4s are a little oversized especially if the drone is a little heavy.

It risks overheating of motors and esc!

You have to use throttle management and yes also try to keep the weight down.

Meaning don't use full throttle and if you do use it for short burst only.   So, non-aggressive flight.

If you are flying for AP/AV then this is how you should fly anyway, but if you are flying for fun then you will be tempted to use more throttle and full throttle.

9450's work great.. Carbon fiber or dji plastic props...

Yeah the 9450s work good also.

I have a F550 with E310 Kit and 1038 props

i fly with the 1038 props 2min longer than you like with the 9450

F550 -3kg

So just for clarification. I have a fully loaded 550 (so it's heavier with gimbal, 2 batteries, lights, full FPV (etc)  with the stock 2212/960 motors and the 30amp esc. I fly the 8" DJI props currently with a 6kmah 4s setup and I get about 6 min of flight. Can I change to the 1038's without overheating the motors if I fly in GPS mode?
