Not trying to be to critical, but I believe you videoed the lake bottom upside down.

I was really going for a "topsy turvy world" kind of dutch angle with this bit of filming.

Nah, she's dead dead. Already off to DJI for a refresh. I mostly just couldn't trust it isn't damaged in some way I couldn't predict next time I flew (even if I could get it to fly, which I couldn't).

Sorry for your loss.  this is the first underwater capture of Mavic  Air I have seen

I think I'm really breaking new ground here. Also, breaking new drones.

i was willing it to get caught in a branch , you could bet if it was 50 ft tree where you could never climb it, it would be stuck up ther.glad you got it back , and you will always have the worlds film of a submersable video recording from a MA...lol.

Yeah, in terms of recoverability, falling in the lake was preferred over getting stuck in that tree.

You did pretty good!

Nah, she's dead dead.

The ''Suggestions'' were Tongue n Cheek Sarcasm, in reference to standardized suggestions for drones with problems.
After drone went diving, it was definite send in for service.

The Toy Story characters turn from watching Sid (neighbor kid) blow up another Kombat Karl, only to react in horror to Sean getting another Mavic Air.  Poor, poor thing.

On the other hand, use it til it arrives at its grave all worn out.  Drones are not the stuff of family heirlooms.

Sorry for your loss. Side sensors would of helped if the MA had them.
You got to admit that was a great underwater shot.
Glad to see you recovered it. Hopefully you will get back to flying soon.

Yeah, not only did it record under water... but it did a surprisingly good job at it.

Update, for those who are interested in the DJI Care replacement timing.

Within 48 hours of submitting the case to DJI I had the shipping labels (more like 36 hours I think). Was picked up by UPS on June 21. The replacement drone was picked up by UPS on June 29 and should arrive on July 6th. I'm very happy with this timeframe, and so far am impressed with DJI Care.

New Air arrived today. 2 weeks + 1 day since it was sent (from Canada to USA and back again). VERY happy with the DJI Care program.

Oh, I think we both know that some pruning is going to happen at some point. This will not be my last bird.

I thought the same thing. The only thing that stopped it was removing the battery

Good that it records even under water. I did not know about it. Remember - no sensors side ways...

At least the lake is freshwater and not saltwater you got a chance of drying it out.
Glad you got it back.

I was really surprised that you did that.  Before you rotated toward the boats, you could clearly see that you were headed straight for the tree.  Not watching where you were going while preceding seemed pretty reckless.  It was a good experience for you though and your Refresh should take care of it.  I wasn't quite sure whether the camera was right side up or upside down.  Decent video under water though.  ;)

I was really surprised at that, too.  I can't be the only pilot watching the video that was quietly yelling "TREE TREE TREE" in my head at about 26 seconds in.

I wouldn’t be so surprised. Within a week of receiving my first Air, it crashed and sank into Lake Ontario. :-)

Just a small point: “it crashed...”? Who was piloting it??  :-p

I'm sorry to see this, i hope that you'll recuperate it soon.

Are you sure that what have you bought is a Mavic "AIR"?

Good luck
