I have been having video feed problems with m y Mavic Pro/Galaxy S7 since spring, but interestingly, not with my Mavic Air. I thought at first that the problem was reflected signals from mountains and steel bridges; maybe the Air had better filters. Then the Pro video became totally unusable flying on flat ground in a broad valley. DJI told me to reset the camera settings, update the firmware and replace the controller cord... none of which worked. The odd thing is, the Pro worked just fine with my wife's Galaxy S8 Active. DJI was telling me to send it in for repair, but since it worked with my wife's phone, I couldn't believe the problem was with the DJI hardware. Reading the forums, I found the suggesting to change the Performance Mode s on my Galaxy S7 from Optimized to High Performance. Bingo! I now have clear video from the Mavic Pro. I've so far just made one short test flight due to current fog and rain, however, with the phone in Optimized mode, the video was unusable with the Mavic Pro just sitting on the kitchen table. With the phone in High Performance mode, I got clear video flying up and down the driveway and around the yard, and as high as I could go below the fog (like 80 feet, lol). I am pretty sure I have it licked.
I haven't tried rolling back the Go4 app; maybe I will give that a shot and see if I can resume flying with the phone in Optimized mode. |
