The (Australia) ABC 'Overnights' radio talk-back program was discussing drones in general - early morning (4am) yesterday.
A CASA representative was interviewed regarding rules & how drones have many practical uses for photography, land surveys, farm/property inspections, searching for a lost person/object etc...
The question of privacy came up & the CASA rep' said they are only concerned with safe flight.  The drone must not be closer than 30m to another person - privacy is not their concern, but if a drone gets too close, then it becomes an issue.  

I hope this helps anybody before or after they buy a drone. Fly for fun, but if you fly for profit it is another story
