You are right Maik, if I had that opportunity I would skip the Spark and go straight to Mavic Air.

I have bought a Mavic Pro Platinum, so I leave the Spark just for Fun.

**When I fly on water I always use the Spark Floating Kit, its made out of 4 Balls (Jablo) and can float the spark if you have an accident**

Oh, i didn't even know this exists, is there something similar for the Mavic Air?

I think I'll get another Spark as well at some point, i still have the remote and two batteries that would go to waste otherwise. And it is fun to fly.

I have bought a 3D Printed Kit for the Mavic Pro Platinum.

I think there is something for the Mavic Air too.

Thanks for the tip but it was a simple piloting error, nothing wrong with the Spark/Connection. I flew backwards while turning and was looking at the screen instead of the Spark. All tracking, signal and image was instantly lost when it hit the water and it was probably carried down-river so i think it's lost for good.
So thanks but I don't think Support can do anything for me at this point.

Good footage up until the crash.  And good edit!  Sorry about your Spark though.

Poor little SPARK!  Yeah, I fly over water, rivers, and Ocean all the time.  I've come close to losing mine a few times as well.  It can happen easily, especially when your standing on the edge of a river bank and send your drone upstream.  You don't always have a good point of view and those little tree's and branches that are poking out all over the place can easily get that SPARK.  Whenever possible stay away from the edges and keep it within the center of the river/creek when possible.  I'm sure you've learned that lesson already.  Good luck with the replacement.

It's far better than the spark, especially the range is great, I can fly as far as i can see it without losing video connection. And the speed is just fantastic!

Also the flight time on a battery is not much more than Sparky's but it SEEMS much more. You start thinking: "Hmmm, what else could I shoot while it's up there?" before it was "Oooh, i've got to return soon...".

Experimenting with manual camera settings now... I need some filters to keep that ISO and shutter speed down!

I went back to that place today with my new Mavic Air to conquer my fear of flying over water:

I lost my dji spark because it didn't have enough battery to come home when I lost connection, it looks like it landed in the river. WWWHHYYY!!!!!
