Hi thank you for reaching DJI Forum, we do apologize if you are having difficulties installing the DJI Go 4 app on your Ipad Mini 2. Unfortunately its not compatible to run the app. Below is the list of fully compatible devices.

I think you need to update the compatibility list on the app page in the AppStore on iOS then as it’s still showing iPad mini2
You need a Powerful Apple Product to handle all that Streaming Mate.
I can understand the Big Frustration, but you should come here and ask opinion before you buy.
I ask and they told me to buy an Iphone 7+ with 3GB Ram.
If you had Android you could rollback to a different DJI Go4 App, but with IOS you cannot.
I use my Mini 2 (wifi only) most of the time to control my Spark. They work perfect together and I receive all the DJI GO 4 updates as they should. So a bit strange you can't install the app, but also there are different compatibilty lists. Your iOS is up to date as well?

Sorry for the troubles. This message might appear for iPad Mini 1. May I have the About page of your mobile device for the further check?
Thanks for getting back to us. Upon checking the Model number, I'm afraid that it is an iPad Mini 1, instead of Mini 2. You may search the Model Number or SN on Google to confirm.
i had ipad mini 2 with mavic 1 x 2yrs,never had a problem, and had dji4 app on it...bought the mavic 2,used same ipad mini 2,again no problem (but today just in case,i bought an ipad mini 4 lol)

Ipad mini 2 still works on the dji fly app and i can run everything on a mavic air 2. Except i cant pull up 1 menu from top left corner, and cannot keep the map open during flight at bottom left because it uses to much CPU.
Anything CPU with 2000plus MHz should be fast enough. Ipad mini 2 has 1300
