Just got my Mavic Air Platinum Pro... been doing a lot of flying, but now sure about editing.

Reconmendations for software that is free or nicley priced to edit my footage?

I would recommend Davinci Resolve. That's what I use. It's got a bit of a learning curve but it's worth it.
There's both a free and a payed version.

You can consider other third-party software for editing like what your co-pilots advice you.

I'm new as well, and just purchased the adobe Premiere Elements 2018.  I got it from Fys.com on sale and will be giving it a try soon.

A little as you'll need to crop more with the MPP over the MA and the MA has higher bit and frame rate options.
