Hi guys, I have an iPhone 8 and I was thinking to get an Osmo Mobile 2. I’ve read threads from last year that warned about the app not supporting the new HEVC format. Is this still the case? Or an app update solved the issue?

Hello there. I appreciate your time bringing this query to us. Osmo mobile 2 works as a gimbal only. It just holds the camera so it would be really depends on the mobile phone performance limitations.

Not really because to use it at its full potential you need to use the DJI Go app, which has/had the aforementioned problem

I understand. But when it comes to the resolution and quality of the video/pictures, that would be based on the mobile device's performances and limitations.

The iPhone 8 can natively record videos at those resolutions/FPS. Can the DJI Go app do that? It seems it can't

I have an iPhone X.  4K@30pfs and 1080p@60pfs what I can select in the DJI Go app. Native iOS app can do the max of the phone, which can be used with the Osmo.

Thanks for the reply! That unfortunate.. I’d love to use the app to record videos at 4K 60FPS. Hope the team releases an update soon. Until then, no Osmo.

You don't need to buy the osmo to try the app.    On my iPhone 6 it only goes up to 1080 / 60 but that is the most the phone will do..

We will clarify it to our engineers if this resolution is possible on our Osmo mobile 2.

Just bought the Osmo 2 and realized that there is no Funktion for 4K60 fps within the DJI App. Why? Whats the Problem to make an Update? My iPhone x can handle it! I will send it back today!
