I feel like Im a very tech savy guy and have been flying pretty well with the I1...I just still can't figure out how I can do manual photography with the I1. I know I click the little slider button right below the record button, but all thats there is shutter and ISO. How are people getting long 2 second exposure shots?

Hi Tyler,

I don't think thats possible at this time. Even as stable as it can be, I would think you'd get a lot of movement in your shot. Unless thats the look you were going for that is.....

Just my thoughts on the matter.

2 second exposures would result in a lot of blur. Particularly from a flying aircraft.

If the wind is calm enough, you can take over 1 second shots.

Here is a guy who claimed to do an 8 second exposure with the Inspire-1.http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/s ... amp;postcount=16958
The photo he posted seems to bear out his claim.

Here is another night time photo that a guy on the RC Groups forum posted.
Judging by the light trails from the cars on the highway, I would guess somewhere in the area of about a 2 second shutter speed.

For those who may not know, to have full control over your ISO & Shutter speed for long exposure night time shots, you need to activate the camera's Advanced Mode on the pilot app (located a bit under under the shutter button) & once inside select Manual Mode.  Then you can dial in whatever ISO and shutter speed you wish, up to a maximum of 8 seconds on the shutter speed.

Wow -- I stand corrected. Although I still have my doubts (the physics seem impossible for such a sharp 8-second exposure), I accept the challenge to try it!

I've done a 4 sec. exposure time night shot of my small village and some photoshop pimping afterwards.

Here the result:

I've been trying to get these settings for a long time, thanks for the info and hopefully I can find the advanced cameras settings.

I am amazed by these long exposure times. I've gotten good results at .4 sec. but not longer. I guess I'll try on a very calm day.

Here was a shot I took in Philly.  I think it was about a 3 second exposure.
