I've been using an old Google Nexus 7 with my P4P. I got a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 and I've only been able to get it to connect to the P4P controller twice, out of about 100 attempts. I've been doing it with WiFi disabled on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2.

II got Litchi and tried it and I have the exact same problem. I've only been able to get Litchi to communicate with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 once.

Both apps work fine with my old Google Nexus 7. Does anyone know what is causing the problem with my Samsung Galaxy Tab S2?

I went through exactly the same thing about a year ago - Nexus 7 worked fine all the time but sometimes a little slow, Galaxy Tab S2 connected now and again,  then one flight totally disconnected.  I searched high and low but never found a solution, so I bought an Ipad Mini 4 which always works
A bonus - I found that the iPad is in general a much better tablet all round and is now my tablet of choice. It has a larger display than the Nexus 7 which is nice. The only downside is that it does not have GPS (the non cellular version that is)

Thank you for the reply. Downgrade the operating system? I've never done anything like that.

I could return the S2 and get something else. Any recommendations other than a iPad?

S3 lol Yeah, it can be a bit daunting doing it if you've never done it before, shame....

That sounds like a good idea. Is there an available tutorial as how to root the S2 "down" to the Android 6? I was thinking that my S2 worked great with the DJI app until the S2 upgraded to Android 7.

Not had mine over heat but then i have not flown in 90º heat before, not over 80º for me

Here is the solution:
Entering the service mode, you need to change the USB mode.
The following must be done.
You will need to enter a calculator and enter it (+30012012732+ and then press + and then enter the code input interface, then type * # 0808 # to enter the USB configuration interface, instead of the original MTP instead of the RMNET + DM + MODEM must be selected and then OK. If this is the case, then if you connect the DJI line, you have to work immediately on the connection.

Hi,

Here is the solution:

Make sure you RC is turned on and plugged into your S2. The go into Developer Options >USB and choose MTP

I have come up with a work around that will connect every time without issue. This has also been tested with the latest operating system updates without issue as well.
The root of the problem is either DJI GO4 or the controller is not handling the USB connect protocol correctly.


Step One
Place your Tablet in Developers Mode.
Follow the instructions here>

Step Two
Once in developers mode, open settings, scroll down to the bottom of the left hand menu and select Developers Options.
Once in Developers Options, scroll down to USB configuration. Change USB settings from MTP to RNDIS

Your P4P should now connect – Every time.

Notes
The Tablet wont remember your change in settings. It will revert to back MTP. So you must make this change each time you connect.

Versions (2016): T813N (Wi-Fi); T819N (3G/LTE)
Versions (2015): T810 (Wi-Fi); T815 (3G/LTE)

Also what OS are you running?
