Yes actually it was all manual, flying around trees and breezy waterfalls can be a tense moment as you can imagine, many times you don’t get enough satellites because you’re in a “bowl”.

thanks!, this video was shot near cannon beach and hug point, you can also check out ecola state park near there, I couldn't fly because the wind was ripping that day but it would be cool shooting in good weather, there is a lighthouse off the cliffs within flying distance that you could fly around. haystack rock is a nature preserve so you can't fly there, no big deal. the waterfalls were along the Columbia river gorge, namely ponytail falls, there are other as well. another place to go is about an hour or so south of Portland called silver falls. the hike there is about 8 miles with maybe 10 waterfalls, challenging flying because of the trees and spotty satellite coverage which can cause a lot of drifting. that being said, there is plenty of stuff to shoot and you would love the footage.

thanks! you have a good eye. yes, thats canon beach where haystack rock is. they shot the beach scene in the beginning when the fratellis escaped. also ecola state park is in the background beyond haystack rock, thats where the kids climbed up the hill. ecola was also used in kindergarten cop. I started flying in February this year with the spark then moved up to the mavic air which is what I used to shoot the video. thanks again for watching.
