In my case, I have ordered from them before, so this was not entirely unexpected. However, if one does not bring these issues up, they will never get addressed. I should also note that all fairness I think they have been improving as a company.
From a consumer purchase standpoint, proactive communication goes a long way. They do a great job developing products and a great job marketing them/driving demand. Market forces will eventually dictate how much they support B to C sales. If they decide that direct to consumer sales are important, they will need to address these issues.
