I am using the same phones as you, and the latest version works OK so far.

On a weaker phone 4.2.12 worked better though before.

OTG most probably works best on 4.2.12, but with a J5 and app 4.2.20 I think you are fine without OTG.

Im using galaxy s6 and 4.2.16, tryied 4.2.20 result=unusable. Might try 4.2.12 as many ppl say its the best version if you dont have the latest phone(like me

4.1.15 is the best for my galaxy s6.
