Hey all! In this thread I would like to give you some advice you might need to take in consideration before embarking on an epic journey. There will be some tips that I already pointed out in my other threads:

Epic moments are once in a lifetime!

So, this since the deadline for the contest ends very soon, this will be my last entry. In the weekend I planned a journey to a pretty remote location in a forest where I found a mushroom shaped castle.
Since Now, it’s epic contests theme was finding shapes/structures that resemble a letter, IKA Castle acts as both "I" and an "O" depending on the angle you take the shot.
Before embarking on a journey be sure you fully charge your batteries! Kerping a notepad in your bag or having a specified Checklist list app on your phone might come in handy. Things you need to have before leaving home:
-sd card
-batteries
-props
-rc
-filters Imagine when and how you would like to capture your subject. Be sure that weather conditions are good to carry out the job. There are moments when opportunities to take the “golden shot” are once in a lifetime.
This was the case with me. I wanted to capture the castle surrounded by the fog that came down the walley. Me and my fionce arrived to the destination after a storm. In the mountains a warm sunny day that ends with a cold shower in the evening might end up with low altitude myst. From my observation myst formed and followed the path of a nearby river. When we got to the location I have seen in the distance that myst was forming and it started to descend downward into the walley.
I took out my phantom 4 Pro and started to look for the best angles. Note: When you have several ideas in your mind and your’re limited by time be sure to bring with you your fleet of drones. In my particular case, I knew that I want to make a 360 panorama at the location. For this mission the Mavic Air turned out to be the best choice. Sure, I could’ve made the pano manually with my Phantom 4 Pro but time is essential. Since the Mavic Air has automated sphere mode I made the pano very quick.
Angles:
Play with the angles and try out different ones. Imagination is the key of success. Making a top down shot is not just an O letter but it strongly resembles with a chineese hat.
The Phantom 4 Pro still has one of the best cameras in the pro-sumer category. Photographing vegetation in detail is just insane. The dynamic range is also a key part in acchieving high quality pictures in post processing. Tip: Shoot in RAW, you have the option to shoot in both raw/jpg in the same time. Since I guess all of you edit your pictures selecting only Raw is the best way to go. There’s no need to shoot both, because of storage and writing speeds to your Sd card.
Final picture shot with my Mavic Air! It's a picture you can take only once ;)!
Hope you liked my work so far. Let me know what you think!
