Are leg extensions a good idea for the Phantom 3?

I want to increase the height of the UAV from the ground so as to give the gimbal a little more protection during rough landings.

There are some that attach to the bottom of the existing legs and face outwards to prevent them from getting too much in the way of the camera when tilted all the way down and the drone is drifting sideways.

Do you think they are worth it?

Yes, seen that, however that guard is so small in size that it would not prevent a (more likely) sideways rough landing, so the extra height would be a bit more of a safeguard I would guess...
