Hi all, the past couple times I have taken the drone out my videos have been pretty dark even without a filter. I know there is a simple fix, probably just an exposure setting. I play with the ipad a lot when I lose signal and start pressing everything on the screen. What exposure setting do you recomend and how can I check or change what I am set on now. Thanks

My advice is to set your camera to Auto, then check the settings.

Now you have a good place to start, making your personal settings, a few increments at a time...

And......you can change settings while you fly.   But instead of letting your fingers go crazy on the screen...….you should hover your drone at a safe hight...bout 10 feet up.   and you can change settings safely.
It sounds like you need some time just flying about.    Get used to whatever you are flying and then try and add a task like taking pictures.
And....stay away from people while you get more skilled.

If you want to shoot manually then once you have your drone hovering in the area you want to shoot you can always open the settings tab for the camera and manually slide the Shutter and the Aperture settings around until you have the visual look you are going for.

You are welcome Franko.    Taking the photo or vid should be the hard part.....flying should be the easy part.  I have R/C heli's too so I know all about
crazy thumbs.   Been there myself.
Prob the most important thing to remember is that ( with satellites  and GPS )  these drones will just hover when you release the sticks.
If things get crazy....just let the drone hover on it's own.     Sometimes it helps to push the left stick up  to make sure your drone isn't too close to the ground.
Keep your eye's on your screen data..( Hight, speed and watch the "radar" screen.
The whole idea behind these DJI products is " ease of flying"
And...…...always be HONEST about stick movements and other settings.
I've seen a lot of cases where a flyer wipes out their drone and does not give the forum the whole story, Making help impossible.

If I can handle one of these drones.... then anyone should be able to fly one.   stay safe dude.

No-one has given you the solution to your problem.
Your camera's exposure compensation has accidentally been set to underexpose.
Look at the camera data toward the top right of the screen and see what is showing below EV.
It's probably showing something like EV -2.0
Dial that back to EV 0

Yup that solved my issue. Big thanks to you and all who responded. Hoping to get out a lot more so I'm sure I'll have plenty more questions for you guys.
Thanks again

Hi Franko, glad to hear you have figured this out. It takes some time to learn the features and performance, you may do a fully pre-flight checklist every time. If there is any further question, feel free to contact us. Wish you have a good time.

Six years later, your post helped me solve the same problem on my Mini 4 Pro.  Thanks!!  :-)
