Most stuff is made in China these days, even American products! Just assembled in the USA. Doesn't that suck that the US government has a severe debt problem and the economy is in the toilet? and all the while they seem ok with out sourcing your jobs to China. Go figure? I guarantee if you polled the citizens of the US and asked them how they all felt about it they would not be too happy. So why do the people let this happen? Don't they have a say in how the country is run? Apparently not! As the majority would be quite displeased and would impeach the current government if there was another option.

I bought a chipper from Bandit Industries, made in the good ol' US of A and covered in parts from China! Starter motor lasted one season- replacement under warranty last two starts! 2 starts! Not so great for a 40,000 dollar machine! Not much made in the USA is worth spending the extra money on these days. Japan is building better cars and motorcycles. Hopefully this trend reverses like it was not so long ago. Used to be the best stuff was made in the USA or Germany.

Its hard to beat the numbers...When i was Design Support at Nortel Networks in Canada...We were building power supplies in Brockville  Ont and re-spun our designs to meet new Safety Standards. The company that spun the designs took over manufacturing as well.  The average wage in Brockville was $18.00/hr union rate. They moved manufacturing to Penang Malaysia in the free trade Zone...Labor Rate 0.90 cents/Hour..They were doing a good job but after a year the labor rate was still to high. Manufacturing these power supplies then moved to Quangdong in China labor rate 0.10 cents/Hr...Impossible to compete with that as long as shipping charges remain low unless you have niche manufacturing or big Govt bailouts... The irony is that when the Socialist leader came to power in Eastern Canada  with the NDP party he blamed the countrys manufacturing woes on the oil industry in Western Canada...Go figure.
