First of the captures from Mount Kaputar National Park in Northern NSW.
The rangers were very helpful and gave great advice and tips. I consider it a drone friendly national park, if you are prepared to go through all the required steps as I indicated in earlier posts. The main ranger who organised the letter of consent gave me a good briefing which was very informative.
Quite cold day, about 5 degrees Celcius and about 15 knots of wind gusting to 25 knots so fairly challenging flying. Strong updrafts in a couple of the valleys.
Add to the mix, quite a few Wedgetail Eagles so both my daughter and I spent most of our time whilst flying, keeping a lookout for angry raptors. Had to abort two flights due to eagles. Also no easy areas to takeoff, fly through tree cover to get up and away, all landings were catch landings. But we had a awesome time and a great way to improve skills.
We will be going back to Mount Kaputar National Park again.
