Hi all

while flying the Mavic air from a small inflatable boat, over the lake superior i crashed my mavic air into the lake and could not recover it back.

as we had an inflatable boat it could not go fast to catch the drone in time, we are really afraid to get into the water, but we clearly saw the drone from top of the lake , sitting on the lake floor

for anyone in Michigan here is the coordinate, I still have the DJI care refresh until Apr 2019. I guess it should not be much deeper than 15 feet at that location

we are really afraid to get into water, though we had life jackets , but none of us  know how to swim or dive,  the other thing is that , that place doesnt have goog data network on TMboile, so we could  not reach out for any help

id contact local divers or a diving school and ask the to retrieve it, if submerged in fresh water the drone may still be ok, or at least you can get it back and get it repaired/refreshed.

I’d do what others said find a local dive shop. Or maybe someone at the campground had snorkeling gear and will get it for you.

Use a fishing pole and large hook. If you can see it, it should be easy to hook

Very sorry for your accident but you should really try to recover it, especially since you got DJI Care Refresh which will give you a new one!

DUH, cant believe i didnt think of this as an avid fisherman! This will definitely work and you might catch some too, just careful with hooks in a rubber dingy

Yes fishing the Air from lake should work. I also use fishing rod to get my drone back when it fly under a bridge.

Super Magnet tied on fishing line, the motor cups on our quads are ferrous metal. Just get the mag by one of the motor cups and "clink" you got it. Now quick!! Go save her, she needs you!!

If you believe the accident was not caused by the pilot error and the drone is still in the warranty period, please contact our support team to start a ticket for the data analysis, we will provide the reasonable resolution according to the analysis result.
