That is what stinks...I was set for ROI only.
Camera randomly tilted, without any apparent reason in the flight plan.

You have the opportunity to do three things - pointed in the direction of travel, pointed at ROI or program to change the degrees per waypoint.

Still playing with it.

Okay, good to know. Random movements of the gimbal is odd but there must be a way to prevent that.

I was also thinking about Litchi,  but there is this rule in NL we can't fly autonomous (yet).
From what I have seen and read, Litchi is one of the best in that part.

I just flew this earlier today beyond radio contact:

I haven't found Autopilot to be confusing and have conducted many successful tests using the beta version. Unfortunately android users can't experience it. I' m always flying line of sight so I don't have to worry about trying to fly outside of radio range. This flight below shows a simple waypoint mission around an athletics track. I setup six waypoints around the track and had four different focus triggers, with interpolation switched on so there was a smooth transition from one focus trigger to the next.

Yes, this is the Spark with the Litchi Beta app 2.5 that just added waypoints and orbit.

There is "curved waypoints" available but nothing like spline waypoints like with ArduCopter based flight controllers.

It really looks like it is loading the commands somewhere onboard the Spark.
I looked at Orbit yesterday just before the "on the fly" mission to the school and the app said I was too far away from the orbit.

No you have a complete Litchi dashboard to view.
You view everything from there.

Or, if you just want to fly around with the DJI GO 4 app, you can do that too.

But you cannot go from the Litchi app to the DJI App or go from the DJI app to the litchi app (just checked)

But this is still what I don't get.  I was instructed this was the proper order to fly my drone:

1) Start the phone (without opening the GO app)
2) Start the RC
3) Start the drone

The GO app then starts by itself.

How does the phone know that you want to use Litchi?  Do you start Litchi first?  And will that prevent GO from auto-starting?  Is it maybe a setting in GO I'm missing that will disallow auto-start?

Sorry for the seemingly insignificant questions but I'm just trying to clear up all of my silly inhibitions before I actually purchase Litchi.

connect to the phone/tablet
start the Spark
open Litchi.

Litchi 2.5 beta is a stand alone app that controls the Spark

I have not seen any chatter on the forums that DJI GO 4 will auto start where litchi is concerned - or the DJI app programmed to be able to......

- How do waypoints work?  Do you pre-set your waypoints - with altitude and gimbal direction - and then launch the spark and away it goes?  Maybe there is a video somewhere about it?  I'm just learning about waypoints.
- Is it possible to set a waypoint out of the spark range - say 5 miles (I know it can't do that on a single battery - just exaggerating to make a point)?
- With the Litchi App, can you "free fly" around like with the DJI GO 4?  I'm scared to use a 3rd party app!
- Last one - how'd you get the 2.5 beta version?  I only see 2.4 in the app store

If I may paraphrase?
You are asking if the Go App opens once you hit start in the Litchi app?

With Litchi, DJI GO 4 app does not start as it is not needed at all.

Procedure:

Start Litchi
Make your waypoints & save.
Connect the controller
Connect the Spark
After hitting enough GPS satellites, press start (triangle pointed right)

And just re-read something DJI GO may have auto launched the app upon connecting with the p3
DJI GO 4 does not auto open.

In the order asked:
They use Google maps to lock on the coordinates you choose on the map, all automatic. The mission is all preset waypoints you choose, set the options available (face the next waypoint/ face preset degrees/ etc...) and gimbal options too. Hit start (triangle pointing right) and yes, away it goes. Yes, videos abound but since the beta for Spark is new, those will be scarce. The ones for P3, Mavic Air and above will be all over.

My test 2 video was out of range - about to publish my flight 1400 that was Litchi driven waypoints out of range as well.

Yes, you can free fly with Litchi

And, you have to sign up with the Litchi beta program, download Test Flight app and then redeem the code Litchi sends you.

Just one question:
Is Spark and Rc on latest firmware?
Or is waypoint with litchi beta working on .900 /  .400, too?

I started my experiments on 0.900 AC and 0.0400 RC

I am continuing my experiments on 0.1000 AC and 0.0600 RC with no difference so far.
I did find a limitation I will post in a different thread.
