I have a GH5 and am thinking of purchasing the Ronin S. I have a native mount, focus-by-wire lens (20mm f1.7). I was wondering if putting a speedbooster on the GH5 would allow me to use compatible Canon lenses on my camera with the follow focus?  Thanks!

There were reports on ecternal sites that it works. I'll be able to check that at the end of the month.

I'm using the GH5 with Metabones .64 and Sigma 18-35. It works most of the time. Ronin-s and the GH5/S is not fully compatible due to the issues with the follow focus and rec/stop button continuing to stop working after about 5 min and sometimes less

It works with speedbooster and Tamron 24-70, Tokina 11-20

I heard that with GH5 it stops working if you use an external monitor. And anyway I know that they are working on a firmware to correct. Viltrox is similar to Metabones, has the same automation, so I think I work well with Viltrox

This fixed my issues with using an external monitor. I use it for push to focus and start/stop record along with the external focus motor for zoom on the sigma 18-35

I use the external follow focus to zoom with the Sigma 18-35 attached to a metabones .64. You can also use it for focus too. With the new wire I had no problems with the record/stop button not working. I recorded for about 1 1/2 hours.

With the external follow focus you don't need the usb c cable and ou don't run into the black screen issue when using an external monitor.

However, I do not use external monitors and only use fixed optics, so NO zoom. My question is: using fixed optics and Speedbooster, with the USB cable, can I adjust the manual focus directly from the gimbal without using an external motorized servo focus? Thank you

Yes, you can. I use the existing wheel with speedbooster.
