You need to understand that DJI have to purchase a license to use map footage, then everytime a DJI drone owner opens the app and it brings up a map image, the counter on the map site ticks over. At the end of the month, DJI are presented with a bill for the use of the maps.
Understandably, as DJI are not getting one cent from the user for this, they may be reluctant to use expensive map services like Google, so they go for ones that are either free or very cheap. As a result, the map performance is entirel;y consistent with cheap or free maps. |
