That seems to be the ace up in their sleeves... if your phone is not compatible then it will be always to blame. I hope this is just how they buy time to figure out what the story is...

^^^THIS, they claimed that on my as well when the app just crashed on startup, after an update, although it was working just fine before the update.

I have the same Problem here. RC is not working anymore since Firmware Update. Is there no way to repair this at home? Maybe with cable connection to Phone or PC?

People with a similar problem seem to have worked it out. They just kept trying and trying and finally updated their RC.

I think I'll try the update when I get home, just to see what happens.

I think only folks with update errors managed to succeed, no idea about the ones with wifi kill.

As long as its not possible to connect to the RC, its useless.. cant update..

They are pretty much refusing to sort mine unless I ship it to America. It'll get fixed but they are unable to ship it back to. For a worldwide company surely there is a system in place to allow worldwide warranty repairs

Is there any difference between IOS and Android in Fail/Success updates?
Do IOS devices also fail or its only android problem ?

Does anyone know if there is a "recovery mode" on the controller? Maybe a Dev could ask an engineer?

I found these instructions, not sure they work though.
Power only the RC, not the Spark.
Connect to Spark-RC-xxxxx.
Launch Go4 app.
The button to connect to Spark should be blue.
In the main screen on top right, there is a 3 bars buttons you probably use to review your flight records. Press it long, up to 10 seconds and release it.
Also be sure that your RC is at least charged at 50% before any up/downgrade.

You should get a screen like that:

I did it with my RC, it shows pic related. Maybe you'll get lucky.

I have tried this with otg and it connects to the rc. Dont know if it will work with bricked RC

Got the RC updated just fine, but the Spark keeps failing to update (error 0x000000). Will try DJI assistant later.

On my end, otg does not work although I received the cable after the controller bricked

My RC did not even charge my phones anymore.
It was sure a dead horse.
Hope to hear from DJI soon.
They send additional shipping info after I send off my RC (An additional doc to put in the package, write RMA on the box).
The document they send after creating the case should cover all they need and the package is going to RMA departement.
I really hope all goes well.

Yeah lots of papers i had to fill out because of customs.. So i shipped it from Sweden instead (inside EU) from Norway (NOT inside EU)..  It is nice to live so close to the border to skip customs fuzz..

Is it RMA the only way to resolve this WiFi issue?

Looks like it, DJI replied only once in this threat and asked me for information. since then it is soooo quet..  So i had little hope that they would get back asap, but they dont, so i made a ticket and sended my RC in for RMA..

But i guess someone is not happy at DJI and someone maybe got fired since this start to look like a dissease.. We see only the cases from ppl on the forum.. but we dont know how red hot the telephones are at DJI support.. Thats at least the way i understand it when its so quet all at a sudden...

That's true. Yours seems to be a not DIY problem.

Read the whole threat, draw your conclusions and cry... I made a RMA ticket and put my RC in the mail. You can still use ur Spark with a mobile while RC is at DJI, but yeah not as effective as with RC ..

If you are asking me, yes. Since that didn't work i took my WiFi analyser to find out that there where no additional WiFi signals besides my home signal. Thats when i found out my RC got bricked for real..
I noticed BTW that the RC became really warm, warmer than usual.. when i had it switched on to figure out the problem.. Its obvious that the software inside has come to a loop..

Yeah, I agree, it's a software problem that generated a hardware problem (the overheating most probably fried the wifi adapter).

The loop of death.. I wonder if DJI comes next week with some kind of explanation. Since we are not the only ones. And i think they have to take a closer look to control mechanisms. In other words, not just look at a 50% filled battery, but also other parameters that do effect a correct update. It is absolutly possible to run a test inside the update before committing the new firmware into the flash memory. (Not even mentioning testing the flash memory as a parameter before executing the update..

Please DJI send mi new controller ASAP. I going to holiday next week!!!!! Pleeeeeeseee

I had to send at my cost also, but that is fine, as long they repair it under guarantee and send it back at their cost.. Mine is 3 months from purchase, and Nowegian law says 2 year guarantee. So if they dont fix it free, than the shop i bought it has to take it.. nice and easy :-)

my rc just blinked red endlessly and did not connect to anything.

Seem no other way beside send back RC to dji.

I just contacted my local supplier and they recommend to send back to them for checking..  

Did you try to manually enter the WIFI SSID to your phone?

Yes, I try. Problem is that controller have something like OS and booting about 1 minute. Booting - led flashing, after boot LED shoud be solid red and controller transmit a WiFi signal. My RC still flashing and still is in booting mode.
