I'm freaking doing it, Spark enthusiasts, I'm updating my RC.But first, the AC.

As expected.

Businesses as usual.

Everything's fine.

No worries here.

A few restarts from the AC at this point.

And there you have it. Update complete.

And now the icky part.

It seems like DJI go 4 app is updating my AC again.

Yeap, it did just that. I started the RC udate and the RC beeps like crazy.

91 % and going strong. RC still beeps, 3 beeps, pause, 3 beeps and so on.

Long beep, update complete. Please restart your RC and AC.

Happy to report I had no problem whatsoever updating my RC. That's a load off.

So it started like this.

Then continued like this, beeping like I said through the whole process.

And finally this.

Everything looks fine after restart.

And my Spark is happily flying indoors.


All's well when it ends well.
So, the RC and AC where both on and connected during the RC update.
The AC update lasted about 3 minutes with DJI Assistant, then again about 5 with DJIGO4.
The RC update lasted about 5 minutes.
Everything went smoothly, except for the slight scare I got when the RC started beeping.Oh, my device is a Sony Xperia XZ Premium, Android 8.0.0, not on DJI's list.

A small disclosure, I expected it to fail but DJI came through with this one. Chapeau.

Nice!! And you proved that a Non listed Android device can do it..  There goes DJI's argument

Not easy. DJI should have produced a video tutorial on how to update RC. I got mine going second attempt (does beep throughout!) .  The secret in my view is to first download the firmware update.  Then switch off everything and start again.  Because you have now downloaded the software the program takes yo directly to upload to the RC which you have connected to your device with wifi NOT the OTG!
That's my ten pennies worth.
