the standard prop protectors does not seems to protect from injury risk well:

so is there something better?

It's best to never touch your Phantom while the props are spinning. I'm not sure what the guy in the above video was trying to do -- but, whatever it was, he was doing it wrong

One person control and catch at same time not really a good idea. A lot of people do it but they put the selfs at risk. Practice take of and landing from ground or from a piece of plywood or something stable.trying to catch anything in air in wind is chancy.

Wow, that looked painful. Sorry it happened. What exactly happened? I can't really tell in the video. You should try to explain it so nobody else goes through that. I usually land on the ground but do hand-catch when necessary and I've never had any incident that even made me nervous about something like that happening. Especially, with the prop guards on.

Just shows that non OEM carbon fiber props cut  skin really well and who knows maybe these props where a little larger than OEM and extended over the prop guards ;)

He didn't have the string going around so it is only partial prop protection.

Sorry mate a valuable lesson to all.

l guess a valuable lesson is not to be complacent when using prop guards. Prop guards are advertised to guard the props from damage, not to guard us from being damaged by the props.

Guess I won't be hand catching......YOUCH!!!
