Upgraded the remote controller to the latest firmware 01.00.0600. USB connection works flawlessly. Video response is stable and smooth. Fake GPS to force FCC mode is still working.
AC firmware stays on 01.00.701 and DJI GO 4 app 4.2.12. I am using Huawei P9_Plus and Huawei MediaPad M5 8.4 2018

I will take the bird to Jeju Island, South Korea next month. Hope everything will be fine.

(P.S. FPV video was laggy and blur in the first flight. Took it down and did a manual video cache cleaning. Restarted the bird and re-connected the whole setup, The video quality became smooth as silk and responsive. Spark does this occasionally and I don't know why. I always perform the above steps and solve the issue. Sometimes as a pre flight check, I do a manual checking on the video quality by swinging the bird from side to side/up and down to see if there are signs of video lagging/broken video, before take off.)

I am curious. Care to share why you have upgraded the RC firmware but not the AC, or DJI Go 4 app? Just keen to know

Question, you upgraded the firmware from 4.2.12??? Without any issues? Its just that im also on 4.2.12 but im scared to touch the firmware, as it says "dont fix whats not broken".

I want to have the "officially supported OTG USB" function only. Old versions of AC firmware and DJI Go 4 app work just fine. Adopt "If it works, do not change it" principle.

Nope. Connect the RC with Huawei P9_Plus wifi. Follow on-screen instructions, the RC update will begin. I did not switch on Spark throughout the whole update process.

It is an option in the DJI GO 4 app, 4.2.12.

I see ... Thanks for replying. I asked because I have this worry that if the firmware for RC, AC and the app are not up to date in sync, conflicts might occur and the AC will behave erratic in the air.

In the past, I used AC firmware 1.00.0701, RC firmware 1.00.0400, DJI Go 4 App 4.2.12. This combination flies like a dream. Not a single problem spotted during my visit to Canada three months ago. I flew the bird nearly everyday for two weeks. The only issue is that I need to plug and unplug the OTG USB everytime when I have to connect to the RC. The new RC firmware 1.00.0600 solved the problem.

I use 4.2.12 and did not update the ac or rc firmware yet (and not planning on doing it until i get my ipad air) And no problems whatsoever. Perfectly stable little birdie
