Hi all,

Yesterday i was just flying around testing the flight distance. When around 500 metres away i've lost connection and the drone initiated a RTH. So far so good, but when i regained control i wasn't able to break off the RTH for several times as the prompt "Command Timeout' appeared. When i googled this message i was kinda happy that my drone returned safely and i was able to regain control.

Eventually nothing real bad happened, but i'm curious if there is something i can do to avoid this message.

Also, flying just 500 metres away (with the RC) and then losing connection is a bit dissapointing when i see all kinds of films with people flying much further than that. To be honest i havn't flown with my iphone on airplane mode, so maybe that's the case..
Anyone has an idea about the command timeout?

Hi there, sorry for the inconvenience. Would you please provide the firmware version? May I know if all are up to date for aircraft, remote and APP? What exact iPhone device? How did you position your antennas? Kindly check the video tutorial below.

I had a similar error last night as well.  First time I've seen it happen.  Command Time Out trying to switch modes.

But I was maybe 10 meters away.  I wanted to try out Tripod mode and see how much 'up' pitch I could get on the gimble after reading about it in another thread.
I was finally able to get into the mode, but it took me three tries.  it was right there in front of me the whole time.

Hi thanks for the reply. I'm all up-to-date with al the devices. I have an Iphone 6.
I've seen the tutorials before and i had the antennas in the right position.

Hi, thanks for the response, the reason why you encounter losing connection is due to that you're under the Netherlands and it's CE policy and the maximum distance for this would be 500 meters away.

I know, but is that the reason that i can't regain control?

Did you try the pause button?

I had a similar error last weak as well but flying indoor.  The drone was less than a meter away, it was flying with OTG. When I activated the landing mode, I received the message "Command Timeout"

"Command Timed Out" just means you are too far away to send a command to the Spark.
Nothing to worry about.
If you lose connection or time out continues, the craft will RTH so long as you took off with a good home point set..

I had the same issue 3 days ago with my mavic air every thing is fully updated and was flying with very good signal the drone started to return home automatically then automatically canceled return to home and could not control the drone at all even tho I was connected now I have lost the mavic air
