I might be selling a few photos made with my drone. Do I need to have the FAA Pilot's License? I am not making a living at photography, not a full time business.

Yes.  Its commercial so you need part 107 in the USA.

The very short answer is yes.

If you intend to sell images or vids, or they might
end up on a commercial site of any kind, the FAA
considers that a commercial endeavor.

I have my pilots license, so adding on my Part
107 ticket was really easy. I'm just getting started
with the drone work, so I have a lot to learn, but
I am looking forward to learning some new things.

Good Luck & enjoy the ride.

I will go for the license to be covered. Is the exam(s) difficult? Do the attachments the FAA provides help? I registered my drone under 107 already.

BTW, I have the FAA page bookmarked and am struggling through it.

Remotepilot101 and this booklet was an excellent study guide. https://www.amazon.com/gp/produc ... RW9VMQ1V0RAAKMRZYHA

It's not actually a pilot's license, it's a certification - called a "Remote Pilot Certification"

Yes, and to prepare you further......I found this video extremely helpful.  After wandering around the FAA website, studying the various recommended documents, I came across it hoping to supplement my studies.  It's Looooong, but he covers the whole thing and points out some possible pitfalls and "trick" questions.

No problems just ask us. There are a few of us that are FAA certified. The video that was posted is in the link i posted also but there way more info and links to sample exams to practice with. Pay special attention to the METARs and Sectional Charts. I had a lot of questions with those on my exam. Longitude and latitude etc. It wouldn't surprise me if they added submitting flight plans before we take off in the near future.
